Rome Airport Car Rentals

Rental car can be a great option if you want travel entirely at your own pace. After landing, simply follow the signs to the rental car kiosks where you can arrange for whatever size car you need to rent for your trip. Several small and large rental companies serve the airport, including Europcar and Hertz, so be sure to check the prices at several kiosks to determine which is the best for your budget. See below for a full list of the companies currently serving Fiumicino Airport.

Although having a rental car allows you to get around on your preferred schedule, it can be a much more expensive option than public transport or taxis because you’ll not only have to pay for the car for the entire time that you have it, but also fuel whenever the tank runs out.

When driving your own car you’ll be following the same route as buses and taxis, so expect the journey to take roughly 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on the time of day and traffic levels. Take the A91 to get to Rome, and use your phone or car GPS for your specific destination in the city. If you don’t have GPS, be sure to print off directions to where you’re staying before you fly.
